What data is collected and how is data collected?
Johanson Transportation Service collects information about you from various sources; including information (i) you provide us directly, (ii) obtained from your use of our services, or (iii) that is collected in accordance with applicable law. For example, we may have a direct relationship with you, and you may choose to provide personal information to us in connection with that relationship. You may submit information to us in connection with a quote request. We also may obtain information about you from companies that use our products or services, publicly available information systems, consumer reporting agencies, and commercial information services.
When you register for a new account, we use your name, company name, address, preferred time zone, country of origin, telephone, email, carrier MC number, username, and password to set up a new FreightOptixx™ account. We will collect information in our database for any data you enter on our Web site, including available trucks, driver tracing information, and order numbers.
We also collect certain information by automated means. For example, we collect information that is sent to us automatically by your Web browser when you visit our Web site. The information we collect from your Web browser and from cookies and other Web technologies does not identify you personally but in some cases we may link it to personally identifiable information.
How do we use the data we collect?
Most of the information we gather for new customers and carriers is filled out offline, through other channels. When you register on the FreightOptixx™ Web site, an account is created for you. The information goes directly into a security database used to allow you access to the Web site. Once you have access to FreightOptixx™, you may give us additional information to assist in processing orders and doing business with you effectively. All information is contained within this database and is not shared with any other Johanson Transportation Service databases, or any third-party databases. The quote requests are not stored in the security database long term. The information is collected temporarily, a report is created and emailed to sales, and the quote data is then deleted from the database. A member of the sales team may use the collected Quote Request data, manually entering the information into our Customer Relationship Management database for follow up.
